For whatever reason it may be, you have already decided to undertake the challenge of learning classical guitar. Get ready to embark on a whole new musical journey! Classical acoustic guitar has been practiced for many decades and is considered by many artists to be a form of art. Before you begin learning to play a classical instrument I would highly recommend that you read up on the history of this beautiful art for it has a history of its own and I’m sure you will be quite impressed! There are many things that make classical acoustic guitars different from regular acoustics and it would benefit you greatly to know a few of these before hand!

The biggest difference between the two is the way you g about playing them as the classical acoustic guitar must be played from the heart, you must feel the music and let the guitar become a part of who you are. Get into playing, don’t just strum the notes feel the notes and move with the music. It might sound funny but you will see how much better you can make the music sound when you really feel it. It will have passion and tell a story for its listeners!

In order to play the classical guitar how it is meant to be played, the artist, you, must be relaxed and be able to listen to the music as it is played through the instrument. If you are used to playing acoustic guitar you may find that you have to unlearn a few habits that you might have picked up along the way. Only then will you truly be able to play beautiful music that others will envy and talk about.

Classical acoustic guitar can at times be extremely frustrating when you are first starting out. Do not let this sway you from your goals; everyone has to start from the beginning! Learn the basics first and then as you progress you will start to learn faster and faster. Before you know it you will be playing for friends and family and being asked to teach other people!

 

Guitar Buying Tip #1

When buying a beginner classical guitar consider a neck in the sizes of 1/2 or 3/4. This will make it easier for people will smaller hands to reach around the neck.


Guitar Buying Tip #2

Test the instrument beofre the purchase, make sure that when the strings are played the guitar lets out a bright clear sound.


Guitar Buying Tip #3

Check and make sure the neck is straight. Begin at the base and move your eyes up towards the head of the guitar, it should be a straight line with no curve.
